Cushman & Wakefield Volunteers at Local Food Bank

Cushman & Wakefield Raleigh’s Cushman Cares group coordinated a volunteer event at the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina, partnering with other local companies to sort and package sweet potatoes. Together we packaged 10,000 lbs. of sweet potatoes totaling 8,333 meals for families in need. Food packaged at the Food Bank is typically received 24 hours after packaging.

Established in 1980, the Food Bank is a nonprofit organization that has provided food for people at risk of hunger in 34 counties for over 35 years. The Food Bank serves a network of more than 800 partner agencies such as soup kitchens, food pantries, shelters, and programs for children and adults through distribution centers in Durham, Greenville, New Bern, Raleigh, the Sandhills (Southern Pines) and Wilmington. Last year, the Food Bank distributed 68.4 million pounds of food and non-food essentials through partner agencies, and $.97 of every dollar donated goes directly to the Food Bank programs.
