Tampa WIN’s Philanthropic Event

The Tampa Women’s Integrated Network (WIN) Chapter hosted the chapter’s third WIN event on October 26th. The event’s focus was centered around the chapter’s philanthropic efforts. When the WIN committee sat down to plan the event Elize Greenoe, the WIN Tampa Philanthropy Chair, and Tracie Ferguson, the WIN Tampa Event Chair, brought the idea of discussing human trafficking and its impact on women in the community. Since the purpose of WIN is to empower other women and influence the community with a positive impact, we reached out to Sasha Lohn with the St. Petersburg Police Department to speak to our organization about the issues surrounding human trafficking and how we can give back and help those who have been affected.

Additionally, Tampa’s WIN chapter took it a step further and retrieved a list of requested items that the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay is seeking. We circulated the list to the entire Cushman & Wakefield Tampa office and the generosity was overwhelming! Employees donated blankets, toiletries, bath soaps, shampoos and other feminine products and over $200 cash was donated and used to provide Wal-Mart gift cards. The WIN committee purchased 50 Cushman & Wakefield branded drawstring bags and WIN members filled them with the various donated items.

WIN Committee members will be delivering the items to the Crisis Center on Tuesday, November 14th and will also have an opportunity to tour the facility. The Crisis Center is beyond thankful for the donations from WIN and Cushman & Wakefield!
