On April 18th, 2017, an industrious group of 15 Cushman & Wakefield’s Asset Services volunteers put on white company t-shirts and rolled up their sleeves to pitch in at the Alameda Point Collaborative in Alameda, CA.
The Cushman & Wakefield team performed a variety of beautification activities at the Children and Youth – Teen Center. Among other tasks, the team painted, pulled weeds and removed litter. The selfless contributions of these Cushman & Wakefield employees is consistent with one of our company’s mottos: “Alone we are good; together we are great!”
Alameda Point Collaborative is a non-profit organization formed in 1999 and transformed the vacant military housing on the former Alameda Naval Air Station into a supportive housing community. The Collaborative operates 200 units of housing over 34 acres of land and provides over 350 formerly homeless residents, with a home. Residents are given access to life and job skills training, substance abuse and mental health counseling.
Alameda Point Collaborative is a supportive housing community that uses all its resources to help families and individuals break the cycle of homelessness and poverty. It is the largest supportive housing provider for homeless families in Alameda County.
Leading the volunteer group was San Francisco based Sandra Boyle, Senior Managing Director Asset Services – Northern California.
Following the event, Sandra applauded the enthusiasm and efforts of her team members:
“We’re all very happy to pitch in and help make a difference in the communities in which we conduct our business. It was hard work, but it feels good to make a contribution to Alameda Point Collaborative and it gives us a sense of satisfaction to have assisted in this small, yet meaningful way.”
