Cushman & Wakefield’s Asset Services in Northern California continues to answer the bell to help serve and make their communities better, and particularly those who are most in need. On July 16, several of the firm’s members from around the Bay Area joined up with the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano to assist in the process of providing healthy food to those in need. Helping to sort and box non-perishable food items, the Cushman & Wakefield contingent packed more than 75 boxes of food which the Food Bank and their partner agencies went on to deliver to the community.
Coming from San Francisco, Oakland, Walnut Creek, and Concord, the Cushman & Wakefield team included Alexis Beech, Melissa Bach, Anne Caesar, Marlena Harp, Frank Lucas, Ricky Platt, Melody Powel, Leigh Renard, and Adilene Sanchez, who all selflessly spent a summer’s afternoon to help support this great community effort. This was Cushman & Wakefield’s second year volunteering at the Concord facility. The firm also helps regularly support other Food Banks around the region.
With over 40 years of service, The Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano continues to serve 178,000 people each month who need food assistance. The Food Bank relies on volunteers and donors to help serve 1 in 8 residents living in Contra Costa and Solano Counties. The Food Bank distributes food directly to low-income people at community sites and make food available for other nonprofit organizations serving the ill, needy and infants. More than 20 million pounds of food was delivered last year, with more than half being fresh fruits and vegetables.
