Raleigh-Durham Office Celebrates Pride Month and Juneteenth

Cushman & Wakefield’s Raleigh-Durham office recently held an event focused on the LGBTQ+ community for Pride Month and Juneteenth. The event offered employees the opportunity to network and discuss a series of postcards provided before the event with facts dedicated to the two celebrations.

LGBTQ+ Pride Month is celebrated each year in June to honor the 1969 Stonewall riots in New York City, which commemorated its 50th anniversary this year. Juneteenth evolved from the announcement on June 19, 1865 that slaves were free.

Diversity & Inclusion are top of mind for Cushman & Wakefield, which recently launched several new employee resource groups including UNITY – an employee resource group for LGBTQ+ employees and their allies, BUILD – Blacks United in Leadership & Development and HOLA – Hispanic & Latino Advancement. These join the previously existing networks like Cushman & Wakefield Future Leaders and the Women’s Integrated Network.

We are proud to make diversity a top priority and cultivate a culture that encourages collaboration and fairness to enable individuals to contribute to their full potential.
