The Arizona Chapter of NAIOP recognized the best in commercial real estate on March 28 at the annual Best of NAIOP event. The Phoenix office of Cushman & Wakefield took home two big awards of the night:
- Emerging Broker of the Year – Phil Haenel
- Industrial Broker of the Year – Mike Haenel, Andy Markham and Will Strong
Awarded Emerging Broker of the Year, Phil completed 76 transactions totaling 2.5 million square feet with a total consideration of $123 million in 2018. He has been in the industry for seven years and has spent five of those years with Cushman & Wakefield in Phoenix where he specializes in representing and consulting owners, developers and corporate tenant who want to buy, develop or sell industrial real estate.
Industrial Broker of the Year was awarded to the team of Mike Haenel, Andy Markham and Will Strong. In 2018, the team completed 86 transactions totaling 5.5 million square feet with a total consideration of $369 million. With a combined 67 years in the real estate industry, the team finished as the top industrial team in the Phoenix office. The team’s top deals/transactions for 2018 included representing Anderson Corporation in the largest build-to-suit (1,092,792 SF) in Arizona since 2013; and selling New York Life/Wentworth Property Company over 35 acres to build a 568,000 SF distribution center, 100% leased to Amazon.com – the second largest lease done in Arizona for 2018.
