The Phoenix Cushman & Wakefield Future Leaders (CWFL) chapter volunteered at Kitchen on the Street, a nonprofit organization working to eliminate childhood hunger. The goal was to pack 800 Bags of Hope, individually portioned pre-packaged meals and snacks that provide 50 grams of protein and 20 grams of fiber, in two hours and the 15 CWFL volunteers’ hand-packed 900 bags in record time.
In Arizona, 1 in every 6 child struggles with food insecurities. These children rely on the Federal Free and Reduced Breakfast and Lunch Program as their primary source of nutrition. Kitchen on the Street partners with local schools to get children in the Bags of Hope program to provide weekend meals and snacks to children who would otherwise go hungry.
Kitchen on the Street currently serves 1,500 children each week at 29 partner schools in Arizona and Texas. Want to donate to the cause? Learn more here.
