This month, Tara Stacom, Executive Vice Chairman of Cushman & Wakefield in conjunction with Lehigh University, hosted over 250 guests for the annual Stacom Family Speaker Series at One Liberty Plaza in lower Manhattan. Since 2009, The Stacom Family Speaker Series event has been connecting Lehigh students, older and recent graduates, and commercial real estate industry veterans in New York City. Over 250 people participated in the event including 90 students from Lehigh University’s The Murray H. Goodman Center for Real Estate Studies. Industry leaders joined Ms. Stacom in welcoming the students and offering support and advice as they enter commercial real estate.
Marc Holliday, Lehigh Class of ’88 and Chairman and CEO of SL Green, was the featured speaker at the event and presented an extraordinary keynote offering insight into the Manhattan’s commercial real estate market, specifically the office leasing sector, his career journey and experiences in commercial real estate, current happenings within SL Green including its newest trophy asset One Vanderbilt and the redevelopment of One Madison, and most importantly for the students, what advice he has for them as they begin their careers.
After the keynote address, Tara Stacom along with Marc Holliday, honored former head and co-founder of the real estate minor at Lehigh University, Stephen F. Thode, who led the program at The Murray H. Goodman Center for Real Estate Studies for 39 years and was instrumental in the program’s growth and success.
Ms. Stacom earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Finance at Lehigh University in 1980 and serves on the Board of Trustees.
