Cushman & Wakefield’s Stamford office kicked off the holiday season participating in Operation Christmas Child, a charity event run by Samaritan’s Purse, an organization that provides aid to people in need around the world. Participants filled holiday boxes with toys, school supplies, and personal care items for children ranging from ages 2 to 14, wrapped and decorated the boxes, and included personal notes for the recipients. With the support and generosity of the Stamford office’s employees, the team was able to exceed their goal of 80 holiday boxes, preparing and packing 90 holiday boxes this year.
Executive Director, Brian Royce of Valuation & Advisory spearheaded the drive alongside colleagues Mary Cavataro and Eric Michel. “Every year to kick off the holiday season, the Stamford office gets together to ensure children in need all over the world have a happier holiday season,” Brian said. “It is truly wonderful to have the entire office involved in the initiative, and to be able to increase and surpass our goal each year.”
This is the third year Cushman & Wakefield has participated in Operation Christmas Child, and over the course of three years, they’ve prepared 195 holiday boxes for children in need all over the world. In 2016, the Stamford Valuation & Advisory team’s initial goal was to deliver 25 holiday boxes, however they ultimately packed and shipped 30 boxes, which were distributed to children in need in Ukraine. Last year, the team expanded their efforts to include the whole office, and surpassed their goal of 60 boxes to ultimately deliver 75 boxes to children in Honduras.
