This week, three incredibly successful women of Cushman & Wakefield – Joanne Podell, Executive Vice Chairman; Tara Stacom, Executive Vice Chairman; and Laura Pomerantz, Vice Chairman – were acknowledged in Crain’s New York Business’s inaugural list of Notable Women in Real Estate in New York City. The inaugural issue celebrates 45 women who have made their mark in the industry through success in commercial or residential real estate, architecture, construction or engineering.
Joanne, Laura and Tara were honored for their professional successes during their tenure in commercial real estate industry, as well as their civic and community contributions in New York. All three women were also acknowledged as a Cushman & Wakefield Top 100 producer nationwide for 2017.
Joanne Podell is an Executive Vice Chairman in Retail Services with over 25 years of commercial real estate experience, specializing in both tenant and landlord representation. A three-time recipient of the prestigious REBNY “Deal of the Year” award, Ms. Podell continues to solidify her reputation as one of the most respected retail brokers in New York City. She was Cushman & Wakefield’s Top Broker nation-wide in 2016, the first time a retail broker has been the sole recipient of the recognition, and was named Cushman & Wakefield’s overall top retail broker in the United States for both 2014 and 2015.
Also in Retail Services, Laura Pomerantz has over 24 years of executive-level commercial real estate experience and has successfully concluded over 20 million square feet of commercial transactions for clients including Bloomberg L.P., Tom Ford, Giorgio Armani, Tory Burch, Abercrombie & Fitch and Stuart Weitzman. She was named Cushman & Wakefield’s Top Retail Broker for 2017 and was the mastermind behind one of the largest retail transactions in the country last year – moving Levi’s 17,000 square foot Times Square flagship from 1501 Broadway to 1535 Broadway.
Tara Stacom serves as an Executive Vice Chairman in office brokerage, and sits on the Global Advisory Board for the firm. During her 37-year career, she has been responsible for executing more than 40 million square feet of transactions and is frequently ranked among the firm’s top-producing brokers. Tara was Cushman & Wakefield’s Top Broker nation-wide in 2015 and 2004. Additionally, Ms. Stacom was honored with the Real Estate Board of New York’s highest achievement, the 2011 Most Ingenious Deal of the Year for the leasing of One World Trade Center.
