Commercial Observer’s Power 100

Each year, Commercial Observer releases “The Power 100,” an annual ranking of the most influential players in commercial real estate. This year, Cushman & Wakefield is prominently represented with six of the firm’s professionals ranking on the list.

Doug Harmon & Adam Spies

Doug Harmon & Adam Spies

It is no surprise that Co-Chairmen of Capital Markets Douglas Harmon and Adam Spies landed an impressive ranking of #21 this year, up from #29 last year. Their highly notable deals from 2018 including the 1.2-million-square-foot Chelsea Market for $2.4 billion to Google and the for $905 million sale of Starrett City Associates’ Spring Creek Towers, the nation’s largest federally subsidized apartment complex, to Brooksville Company, and Rockpoint Group, surely contributed to their rise in the ranks. Another transaction that was of particular note was the team’s recapitalization of Waterside Plaza, bringing Brookfield Property Partners in to purchase a partial interest stake valued at $650 million in the five-building complex sitting along FDR Drive and East 25th Street.

Power 100

Brett White, John Santora and Bruce Mosler (L to R)

The firm’s leadership including Cushman & Wakefield’s Chairman & CEO, Brett White and President of the Tri-State Region, John Santora were listed at #28 this year – up from #33 last year – for their extraordinary headship of the firm. Brett White’s leadership in the firm’s very successful IPO last summer was a major influencer on his rise in the rankings this year. Chairman of Global Brokerage, Bruce Mosler was ranked with Brett and John as well for his leadership of global brokerage.

Josh Kuriloff

Last, but certainly not least, Executive Vice Chairman, Josh Kuriloff made the Power 100 list for the first time this year at an impressive #32 ranking. In 2018, he led the leasing team that inked Pfizer’s global headquarters relocation for over 825,000 square feet (sf) at The Spiral in Hudson Yards, moving from its longtime home at East 42nd Street. This was a monumental deal as it was one of the largest transactions in a new development in 2018. Last year, Kuriloff also secured a 425,000 sf new lease on behalf of Verizon in Boston to anchor Boston Properties’ newest development, “The Hub.” This was the largest new lease in Boston in 2018 and will be the tallest building developed in Boston in the last decade.

Congratulations to our professionals for being honored on Commercial Observer’s 2019’s Power 100! We are proud to have such a strong representation on the list this year from brokerage to leadership, and we look forward to seeing the continued impact our professionals make on the commercial real estate industry.
