Hollywood’s Hotel Boom

Developers are banking big on Hollywood right now, seeing as there are an epic number of hotels under construction.  This map from Curbed LA plots out 16 hotel sites in various stages of development. By our count, there’s a staggering 2,887 rooms slated to deliver in the next few years.

Why Hollywood?

According to C&W’s Stephen Algermissen, who brokered the sale of landmark Yamashiro restaurant, hotel and apartments in Hollywood, “It is the center of the entertainment industry but underserved with luxury and business hotels. There are new creative firms that are located in Hollywood that generate a significant amount of hotel demand. There is also an incredible amount of retail, restaurant, and nightclub amenities in Hollywood. It’s a hot market.”

C&W’s Mike Condon, Jr. who represented the seller of 1400 N. Cahuenga Boulevard, future site of the luxury Godfrey Hotel (#11 on the list below), agreed. “So long as you have good food and beverage options in an exciting area like Hollywood, you will see growth.”
