Why is international women’s day important to you?
Now more than ever it’s important to highlight equality amongst the work force we work in. I want younger women entering their careers to be seen as equals and be judged on their abilities only.
Why is diversity important in the workplace?
Judgement is rife within our working community, I’ve seen first-hand people explicitly say ‘I don’t want to hire a women for my team’, ‘I can’t afford for another women to go on maternity leave’, ‘women have too many emotions, I don’t want that hassle as a manager’ – this type of archaic view is way overdue of being stamped out.
What’s the best career advice you have ever been given?
“Women can be very jealous of other, territorial of their work, even bitchy about others – imagine if we channelled that energy to supporting each other? Always support each other and the power of women collaboration will show itself to you”
