International Women’s Day (IWD) is a global event recognizing the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. At Cushman & Wakefield, we are proud to celebrate this day and our women colleagues who truly represent what’s next for our firm and industry. Together as WIN members, we play an integral role in promoting and advancing the business impact of women at Cushman & Wakefield to better our firm and provide the best solutions for our clients.
Many WIN chapters have taken action around this year’s theme, #BalanceforBetter, to celebrate women’s accomplishments, while also motivating friends, colleagues and people in our communities to think, act and be gender inclusive. Last week, The WIN chapter in Chicago celebrated with a fireside chat lead by Kara Kennedy, Executive Director of Lumity, with Andee Harris, CEO of HighGround, who has twenty years of experience in HR technology.
Harris discussed her experiences and challenges in climbing the corporate ladder as well as her involvement with Lumity, which provides teens and young adults from underserved communities with transformational experiences to prepare them for lifelong STEM careers. Attendees enjoyed ice cream provided by Dipsy Desserts, a woman co-owned business, along with Garrett Popcorn.
