On Friday, October 19, Cushman & Wakefield’s Charlotte offices came together for our first Annual Great Day of Service. The event invited all employees to unplug and give back to the Charlotte community by spending the morning supporting three local nonprofit organizations of their choice: Classroom Central, Promising Pages, and Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina.
Classroom Central equips students with the tools they need to effectively learn by collecting and distributing free school supplies to their teachers. The organization serves more than 127,000 students and their teachers across 6 school districts in 199 high-poverty schools. The Cushman & Wakefield team hosted a school supply drive and created seasonal die cuts and flash cards for students.
Promising Pages works to inspire underserved children to achieve their dreams by fostering a lifelong love of reading. Promising Pages provides more than 100,000 free upcycled books annually to the Charlotte area. Our volunteers organized a book drive then sorted, counted, and cleaned roughly 5,000 books while reliving childhood memories.
Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina strives through education, advocacy, and partnerships to eliminate hunger by the solicitation and distribution of food, housewares, and clothing. The Cushman & Wakefield team unloaded six pallets of donations with enthusiasm and in record time.
Thank you to the organizations for hosting our inaugural Great Day of Service. We look forward to continuing to support the immensely important services you provide to our Charlotte community. Thank you also to our volunteers for your passion and teamwork.
