Charlotte Cushman Cares Spring Recap

By: Jacqui Aaron, Transaction Coordinator – Multifamily Advisory Group

On Thursday, May 10, Cushman & Wakefield Charlotte had two teams compete to be named champion of the 11th Annual Six on Six Volleyball Classic. The event pits teams from Charlotte’s commercial real estate industry against each other to promote camaraderie, networking, and to raise awareness for local charities. While Cushman & Wakefield did not come away with another championship, a record $155,000 was raised by the event in support of Freedom School Partners. Thank you to our players and to Childress Klein and Beacon Partners for hosting.

On Wednesday, July 25, Cushman Cares volunteered with YMCA’s Y Readers, a nationally recognized literacy program that serves rising First through Third Grade students who are reading below grade level. Volunteers from across Cushman & Wakefield’s Charlotte offices celebrated a group of young scholars’ summer camp graduation with games, races, and a lively dance party.

Cushman Cares is a committee that organizes and promotes events that support a culture of commitment to giving back to the surrounding community. Upcoming Cushman Cares events include:

Operation Sandwich on Thursday, September 20 benefiting the Urban Ministry Center

Day of Service on Friday, October 19 benefiting Classroom Central, Promising Pages, and Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina.  On this day, Cushman & Wakefield invites all employees to unplug and give back to the Charlotte community by spending the morning supporting one of three local organizations.
