Meet Our Boston Office Summer Interns

We are pleased to introduce you to our 2019 class of summer interns. These six accomplished students stood out to us as the most promising real estate professionals of the future, and we knew we had to have them on our team. To give you a taste of what drew us to them, we asked them to provide some insight into their background and interests:

Grey Gettleman, Bentley University – Grey is working with our Cambridge team. While always interested in real estate, his first exposure to the field came from starting a service learning and civic engagement program at school where he learned about housing proposals and tenant/landlord conflicts. This brought him to Cushman & Wakefield so he could learn about the brokerage side of commercial real estate, and he hopes to one day use his experiences to become a leader in the industry.

Emily Zhong, Mount Holyoke College – Emily is in a dual rotation internship where she will first work with Strategy & Operations, then with Retail Services. Prior to coming to Cushman & Wakefield, Emily interned at CompStak and was an extern at PGIM Real Estate. Knowing she wanted to intern at Cushman & Wakefield, Emily reached out to Carolyn Sidor, Managing Principal of Cushman & Wakefield’s New England Offices, and was so inspired by Carolyn’s leadership and success in CRE that she knew she had to work for us. Emily hopes to learn as much as she can this summer and train herself in Excel and modeling.

Victoria Vernet, Elon University – Victoria is working with our Asset Services and Project & Development Services. Victoria has had several internships at real estate firms, including Vernet Properties, Nordlund Associates, and Kensington Flats in London. Having seen the Cushman & Wakefield name all over the world, Victoria was interested in learning more about us. She discovered our collaborative and innovative culture which was a driving factor behind her decision to join us. Victoria hopes to gain an in depth understanding of the Boston market and lease administration.

Cam Mulvey, Wake Forest University – Cam is working with our Marketing, Brokerage, and Research teams. Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield, Cam worked for the Boston Red Sox. He has always been interested in pursuing a career in real estate, and Cushman & Wakefield’s reputation as top tier firm instantly drew him. Cam hopes to learn as much as he can about the real estate industry, especially the Boston market.

Peter Murphy, Quinnipiac University – Peter is working with our Boston Suburban Brokerage team. Prior to Cushman & Wakefield, he worked at the Granite Links Country Club and the Red Nun Bar and Grill in Chatham, MA. Peter’s interest in real estate brokerage brought him to Cushman & Wakefield where he knew he would learn from the best at one of the most respected firms in the industry. Peter has already learned a substantial amount about brokerage in his first month here, and every day comes in with the goal to constantly improve his skills.

Katie Jones, Babson College – Katie is working with our 128 Brokerage Team. She has a strong background in finance having previously interned at Morgan Stanley, as well as working as a financial and marketing coordinator for a student-run start-up called Slide at Babson College. Katie’s finance experience and interest in the commercial real estate industry led her to Cushman & Wakefield where she could learn several areas of the industry at once at a global firm. She hopes to learn as much as she can in her time here and gain valuable experience.

Now that they are about a month into their internship, we have discovered our teams are lucky ones. The contributions they are making to our clients and office is showing and we look forward to seeing where their career paths take them!
