Parker McCollum has transitioned from research intern to our newest full-time research analyst in the Cushman & Wakefield Austin office. In this expanded role, he will assist the senior GIS and research analyst with market research, statistics gathering, and keeping current with leases, subleases and the construction pipeline in the Austin MSA.
A rare Austin native in a town brimming with recent migrants, Parker graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and Applied Economics. However, commercial real estate has long been of keen interest to him which led to two internships in the CRE space before earning this position.
“I chose CRE as my career path because growing up in Austin in the new millennium gave me the unique opportunity to watch a city literally transform itself through rapid growth. This made me seriously interested in the commercial side of real estate which I find absolutely intriguing. I love that I will be part of the Austin’s continued growth in this new role.”
Parker also stated that his goals are to have an ethical, honest, hardworking career where he can accomplish whatever his work life throws at him. As a natural problem-solver, he’s looking forward to being a dependable go-to-guy for brokers and staff needing CRE data. “I want people to see me as a valuable resource,” he continued. “I’ve already learned so much from the brokers and staff during my time as an intern. It’s apparent how important it is to develop close relationships in business and I think brokers are some of the best at it. I know I’ll learn a lot from them even as they come to rely on me.”
In his free time, Parker enjoys the outdoors, hunting, fishing and spending time on the lake. Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield he worked in residential property management during college, which was just the beginning of what is sure to be a long, fulfilling career.
