For the second consecutive year, Charlie Hill, director, Cushman & Wakefield, went Over the Edge and rappelled from the top of 600 Congress Ave. in downtown Austin to raise money for Make-A-Wish Central & South Texas. “There’s nothing more gratifying and fulfilling than seeing the smile on a critically ill child’s face or the tear in a parent’s eye as they talk about their wish experience”, Charlie said.
It only took Charlie 4.5 minutes to repel down the 40 stories (500 feet)! Was he scared? “The fear of rappelling fails in comparison to the many trials and tribulations that the these kids face on a daily basis,” Charlie replied. “It was worth it to help Make-A-Wish reach every deserving child and create hope, strength and joy in their lives.” Money raised by those rappelling goes towards granting these wishes.
