LBJ Family Wealth Advisory Group recently chose Cushman & Wakefield’s Austin’s Asset Services team, led by Paul Noetzel, to provide property management, client accounting, and engineering operations services for Norwood Tower, a class A office building. Paul collaborated with Afton Trail to win the assignment. Cushman & Wakefield will also manage the Brown Building Garage across the street from Norwood Tower.
“This is a high-profile, historical asset in Austin and a great win for Cushman & Wakefield to expand our footprint in the Central Business District and build our platform,” Paul said.
Built in 1929 and considered Austin’s first “skyscraper”, Norwood Tower is an elegant Gothic revival office tower with a dramatic, castle-like façade. The building interior features adorned embellishments, travertine marble wainscoting, and columns with marble capitals and bases resting on polished Texas limestone flooring. Located in the heart of Austin, the building is within walking distance of the State Capitol complex and many downtown hotels and restaurants.
The building is owned by family members of past U.S. president Lyndon B. Johnson. Over the years, the family has invested in significant upgrades to restore the building to its class A status. The building’s anchor tenant is Proof Advertising.
