Piedmont Center participated in PARK(ing) Day 2018 last week. PARK(ing) Day is a worldwide event where citizens, artists, and activists collaborate to temporarily transform parking spaces usually reserved for cars into temporary public parks or displays of art or community.
Held at Lenox Square, Livable Buckhead worked with partners and sponsors to convert 40 parking spaces into mini parks featuring interactive elements. The goal was to demonstrate the value of increased greenspace in the community by swapping parking for some fun and creative play spaces.
Reintroduced under unified ownership, Piedmont Center participated as three reconnected and newly branded neighborhoods – The Commons, The Tower, and The Fountains. The property created a farmer’s market filled with locally farmed fruits, vegetables, and beautiful flowers created in the new accent colors for each neighborhood.
Following the event, the remaining produce, totaling 91 pounds of fresh food, was donated to the Atlanta Community Food Bank, and flowers were donated to a local assisted living facility. Cushman & Wakefield manages buildings 1-4, 9-12 and 15 at Piedmont Center and leases buildings 1-4 and 15. We are proud of our property management team for their efforts supporting this important initiative!
