Mercedes-Benz’s expansions in Bibb Country to metro Birmingham, Alabama, has won one of the Birmingham Business Journal’s “Deals of the Year.” The two new construction facilities will create 429 new jobs. The first facility will be completed in 2018, followed by the second next year. Mercedes-Benz was represented by Deborah McGill Smith and Mark Byers of Cushman & Wakefield/EGS, along with Bayne Porter and Matt Jarrett of Cushman & Wakefield’s Atlanta office.
In Atlanta, two leases secured by Gordon Benedict of Cushman & Wakefield for Amazon.com fulfillment centers in Jefferson and Macon, Georgia, won the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s 2017 Best in Atlanta Real Estate Award for “Industrial Deal of the Year.” Additionally, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta won “Mixed-Use/Special-Use Deal of the Year” for its planned $1.3 billion replacement pediatric hospital. Brandon Wallace and George Olmstead of Cushman & Wakefield’s Atlanta office represent Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and are responsible for brokerage services related to the project.
