Matt Jarratt Named Top Veteran in the Workplace

Congratulations to Matt Jarratt, Director, for being named a Top Veteran in the Workplace by the Atlanta Business Chronicle. The Veterans in Business Awards honors individuals, veteran owned companies and the organizations that support them for outstanding practices not only in business, but in supporting their fellow veterans in the workplace and beyond. Matt will be recognized at the award ceremony on September 12.

Matt Jarratt’s impressive military background translated to a successful career in commercial real estate at Cushman & Wakefield, where the Build-to-Suit Advisory Group he co-leads is comprised almost entirely of veterans. In the last five years, the team has completed more than 30 multi-market transactions and eight build-to-suit projects in 10 states and three countries totaling more than $250 million in value and counting.

Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield in 2014, Matt was a Captain and Company Commander with the United States Marine Corps. There, he gave direct oversight for the welfare, training and assignments of 350 Marines and managed $3 million in government property. He was deployed to Helmand Province, Afghanistan, as an Operations Officer and Anti-Terrorism Force Protection Officer in 2012, where he helped manage the region’s supply distribution operations and successfully implemented risk-mitigation measures to protect some of the region’s most critical logistics assets.

Throughout his service, he diligently ensured the operational and combat readiness of his units through vision, strategic planning, and professional development of personnel. He also served as an Executive Officer, Platoon Commander, and Intelligence Officer before leaving active duty to join the business and commercial real estate community.

Matt has played a significant role in multi-market transaction efforts to expand corporate clients’ distribution and assembly capabilities. He has helped establish international transaction teams to generate consistent service delivery for some of Cushman & Wakefield’s global automotive clients.  He is forward thinking, detail oriented, and committed to successfully accomplishing his clients’ goals, leading to him being named Cushman & Wakefield “Rising Star” for Americas Industrial Services Group in 2016, and an “Up & Comer” by the Atlanta Business Chronicle in 2018.

Congratulations Matt! We are so proud of you and your many accomplishments.
