Atlanta’s industrial market is within striking distance of a grand slam for 2018, approaching the highest rents, lowest vacancy, best absorption, and highest leasing activity in this economic cycle. Year-to-date, the 15.9 million square feet of absorption is only 2.3% below the same time period for 2017, which ended up being a record year. Also, the third quarter posted the highest third quarter leasing activity since 2005 with 6.4 million square feet. With economic growth and job growth for 2018 set to surpass an already sunny forecast, we anticipate the fourth quarter will end with several record shattering statistics.
