After the third quarter of 2015, a Cushman & Wakefield Research report showed Atlanta was the top U.S. major metro for job growth to that point in the calendar year. In the fourth quarter, it was more of the same. A new Cushman & Wakefield report indicates Atlanta finished 2015 with the highest percentage job growth of all U.S. major metros, tied with Dallas at 3%.
The Atlanta metro area added more than 77,000 jobs in 2015, highlighted by multiple corporate relocations and growth in a number of economic sectors, such as construction (7.4%), professional and business services (5.1%), Manufacturing (4.2%) and leisure & hospitality (3.4%). The metro area also continued to watch office-using employment soar past the office vacancy rate. In addition, Atlanta’s job growth number was well ahead of the national average, which was 1.9%.
