Greg Benoit, a tech entrepreneur, has announced plans to invest $25 million to redevelop the building next to Atlanta Tech Village into TechRise, a 100,000-square-foot tech startup hub targeting software companies emerging from regional co-working spaces and incubators. According to research from Cushman & Wakefield, Buckhead contains more than 200,000 square feet of co-working space. TechRise will offer companies one-year leases with the option of six-month extensions.
“We are seeing increasing demand for short-term leases among emerging growth companies, and specifically in the tech sector,” said Ken Ashley, executive director at Cushman & Wakefield, in the Atlanta Business Chronicle. “Those companies are changing so rapidly, it’s hard to see even six months into the future, much less five years.”
The five-story building is located at the intersection of Lenox and Piedmont roads in Buckhead, and will accommodate approximately 20 companies. Click here to read the story from the Atlanta Business Chronicle.
