Tomorrow, Major League Soccer will host its first All-Star game in Atlanta at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The MLS All-Star team, featuring five Atlanta United players, will take on Juventus from Italy, the most decorated club in Italy and one of the most revered teams in the global soccer scene. They have won more Serie A and Coppa Italia titles than any other Italian club.
In the past, MLS All-Star games have contributed between $15 million and $20 million for their host cities. With more than 70,000 tickets sold, the Atlanta Business Chronicle reported this morning that the event could draw the second-highest all-star crowd in history behind the 2010 NBA All-Star game, with a crowd of 108,713 fans.
