At our annual awards meeting, several members of Cushman & Wakefield’s Atlanta office were honored for their achievements in 2016.
This year, a new award was created known as “The Andy Award” in honor of Andy Ghertner, a long-time member of Cushman & Wakefield who has been dedicated to making sure the company supports the local community. Going forward, it will be awarded to those who showcase a real desire, passion and dedication to giving back through Cushman Cares and their own personal efforts.
Lawrence Gellerstedt was presented “The Game Ball Award,” which is given to a member of the team that has gone above and beyond to make the company better. Lawrence has created a program for tenant rep brokers to develop expertise in target verticals as well as geographic locations, which the Atlanta office put into practice at the beginning of this year. By creating a roadmap for how brokers could hone and showcase their expertise, he has been a true leader and innovator in changing our approach to commercial real estate.
Corey Boyer received the “Rookie of the Year Award” for his passion and enthusiasm as a member of the office tenant representation team. Members of both our office tenant representation and agency leasing teams received “The Impact Award” for the Georgia Department of Transportation’s more than 293,000-square-foot lease renewal at One Georgia Center, one of the largest office leases signed in the city last year. Involved in the deal were Kirk Diamond, April Parrish, Erin Smith and Jennifer Leal of the office tenant advisory team and Aileen Almassy and Will Porter of the agency leasing team. The agency leasing team was also named the 2016 top team, with several key wins in Atlanta in 2016.
Lezly Tyler, Senior Property Manager at 171 17th Street, was named “Property Manager of the Year,” and Chris Allen, Chief Engineer at UPS, won “Property Engineer of the Year.”
Nationally, Atlanta had eight of the top 100 brokers at the company in 2016, including Stewart Calhoun, Kirk Diamond, Mike Kemether, David Meline, Chris Spain, Robert Stickel, Brandon Whitesell and Dean McNaughton.
