271 17th Street, leased and managed by Cushman & Wakefield, was selected as the winner of the Southern Region TOBY Award for the category of 500,000 square feet to 1 million square feet. The building previously won the award at the local level before advancing to the regional competition.
271 17th Street is a 25-story, 541,870-square-foot trophy office tower known as BB&T Tower. The building is home to major companies including BB&T, Sage Software and Womble Carlyle. Built in 2009, it is the newest office tower constructed at Atlantic Station. Amenities include branch banking, concierge and conference facilities.
The Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY®) Awards is run by the Building Owners and Managers Association. The awards recognize quality in commercial buildings and reward excellence in building management. During the competition, all facets of a building’s operations are thoroughly evaluated. Buildings are judged on everything from community involvement, tenant relations and site management to environmental and “green” policies and procedures. The building will now advance to the international level at the BOMA International Conference in June.
