As I reflected on in my last blog post, we are committed to hiring veterans into our firm. We are also, however, fully engaged with helping the broader veterans community. Our commitment was abundantly clear at our Industrial Conference last week in Chicago, where 630 clients and Cushman & Wakefield professionals got together to network and share industry knowledge.
For years we have supported Operation Finally Home (OFH), a 501(c)(3) organization that builds homes for veterans and their families. This year we decided to set a goal of raising $75,000 to fund the build of an entire home for a veteran family in need.
We reached out to OFH and were told the story of U.S. Army Lt. Garrett Spears. After learning more about Lt. Spears’ needs, we were determined to raise the funds for OFH to build him a custom, accessible home.
I am happy to announce that we have exceeded our goal! Currently, we are showing over $86,000 in donations collected. I couldn’t be prouder of this generous group of clients and employees who donated to this great cause.
I can’t wait to see Lt. Spears and his family move into their new home!
