Cushman & Wakefield’s commitment to finding a cure for brain tumors has never been greater. Our sponsorship and support for the Race for Hope remains a top priority. Cushman & Wakefield (formerly Cassidy Turley and DTZ) became involved as the title sponsor of the Race for Hope in 2000 after Cassidy Turley’s co-founder, Pat Cassidy, was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Before Pat succumbed to the disease in 2001, he took great pride in knowing that his company was taking a leadership role in helping to raise funds for brain tumor research, a tradition that we continue in 2016, as the Race for Hope celebrates its 19th Anniversary on May 1.
Over the past 16 years, we as a company have raised more than $1.5 million, while the event itself, Race for Hope DC, has raised $25 million. We could not have done this alone. Many of our clients, partners and employees have contributed to our company’s fundraising efforts. Together, we have witnessed how our support for those stricken with brain tumors provides strength and hope.
Brain cancer is a disease that has had a profound and direct impact on my family and me. I lost my wonderful step son-in-law, Paul, in 2004 at age 38. Paul was a gentle, kind soul who left behind a devastated family that included a wife and three very young children.
While advances in research are being made in the field of brain tumor research, much still needs to be done. Brain cancer is a ruthless disease and strikes otherwise healthy people of all ages. I hope you will consider donating to this cause so that we can raise the hope even higher for a day when families no longer suffer the devastating effects of brain tumors. Please visit the Cushman & Wakefield team page for more information or to join or donate.

For Pat, Paul and the many others who have been stricken by this horrible disease…let’s work together to find a cure!
