It’s no surprise that over the past three years, 21 professionals have chosen to join our valuation team across Canada, which is now the largest amongst the brokerage firms in Canada.
Patricia Lohmus, one of the professionals that has joined our team in Toronto, describes the environment as a second family. “We are very supportive of each other, both in work and in life. Our department is very close. It’s the type of environment where everyone enjoys spending time together both inside and outside the office. We also spend a lot of time supporting our community and getting involved. From Cushman & Wakefield’s United Way campaign, to the JDRF Inside Bike Ride, and Ronald McDonald House fundraiser for the Home for Dinner Program, no matter what we are doing and how different the team is, we always manage to have a laugh.”
“I joined Cushman & Wakefield’s Valuation & Advisory group to explore a new role and further my career – lured by the promise of endless growth opportunities and a fun, collaborative work environment. I have not been disappointed. The enthusiasm and support of the team has been overwhelming. The level of camaraderie among our group is unlike anything I have ever experienced in the workplace,” said Lindsay Jarvis, who joined our group six months ago from CBRE.
Wayne MacDonald, who was CBRE’s top appraiser for Atlantic Canada, added, “Choosing to move to Cushman & Wakefield’s V&A team was based on a great opportunity to join a company with a clear vision for business growth and a management team proactively encouraging personal growth.”
Cheryl Farrow, who was also one of CBRE’s top appraisers for Canada, commented, “What attracted me to Cushman & Wakefield was the V&A group’s national presence from coast-to-coast. A number of our clients want their portfolios appraised using local market expertise combined with a consistent approach to value. V&A’s service commitment to our clients strives to achieve both requests.”
And Cameron McAlpine, who joined our team from Altus, echoed that sentiment, “What has impressed me the most with Cushman & Wakefield is our client-centered focus and an environment that fosters collaboration and an entrepreneurial spirit. This, combined with top research and brokerage resources, makes working here a rewarding experience.”
“The focus on expanding the hospitality services aspect of the business across Canada is one of the reasons why I joined the firm,” said Brian Flood. As a senior managing director with CBRE, Flood joined Cushman & Wakefield’s Valuation & Advisory division as practice leader of our Hospitality and Gaming Group for Canada.
“I’m so proud of our valuation team” says Brian Kriter, who leads our group in Canada, along with the business development efforts of our valuation platform across the Americas. “It’s as close of a family feel as you’ll find in a corporate environment – we all truly care about each other, yet also enjoy each other’s company and have fun together!” As proof of this, Steam Whistle Brewery recognized our corporate culture last year by sending their “Good Beer Folks” to set up shop in our boardroom in Toronto on a Thursday afternoon.
